The Garden

Next week looms large in front of me.

Myself and The Demon are both off work for a week, where we shall be 'doing the garden'.
I'm not entirely sure what this entails, I haven't asked, but it seems to be something that older people, like Jaggy, do.

"I've got a few days off work and I'm planning on doing the garden"

I know there are some bushes that she doesn't like, and that a man with a hammer is coming to make a fence, but that's the sum total of the information that has been passed on to me.
I keep seeing her sniffing around The Shed Of Dreams, but there's no God-damn way she's getting anywhere near it, I have jurisdiction there.

I must say, I've had other holidays that I've looked forward to a bit more than this.
I will endeavour to keep you, my adoring public, abreast of my garden-related shenanigans, but I'm pretty sure you'll nod off.

Toodle pip.

I may be older than last weeks kebab, but you'll be getting your free bus pass before I will old chap.

True, but I'll be able to hop on the bus thanks to my fit and active lifestyle. I have no idea how you're going to squeeze your layzeeboy recliner through the doors!

So you've a week to turn it into something akin to the Beechgrove Garden then?
Look forward to reading how the week unfolds. It'll never be as bad as you think, will it?

Gosh... all this gardening malarkey going on north of the border... are you watching re-runs of Alan Titchmarch or something?? Or are you getting all the sunshine while we float like rubber duckies in the rain??

Enjoy your break, Inchy - hope the weather plays ball!

You know, last weekend I went to the garden nursery and bought myself a lavender plant.

It scares the shit out of me. I've turned into my Mother.

There is nothing more satisfying than a day in the garden.

I'm going all misty eyed at the thought of you in your green wellies, rake in hand, sideling up to the demon with a nudge, a wink and a wee eye to the shed of dreams. Could a bit of "hows your father" be on?

Of course hopefully by the time you get to the shed you will have put down the rake!

I'd rather 'do' the garden.
