PalinWatch: Day 14

Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse, Sarah Palin was interviewed on US tv last night. It's quite scary.
On increasing tensions with Russia:

"It doesn't have to lead to war and it doesn't have to lead to a Cold War, but
economic sanctions, diplomatic pressure, again, counting on our allies to help
us do that in this mission of keeping our eye on Russia and Putin."
It doesn't have to lead to war?! WTF!

On the war in Iraq:
"I believe that there is a plan for this world and that plan for this world is
for good. I believe that there is great hope and great potential for every
country to be able to live and be protected with inalienable rights that I
believe are God-given."

There's a fucking plan alright, but it had bugger all to do with this God she keeps going on about.

Here's a clip of 'Party Fears Two' by The Associates to help calm you all down.

I'm beginning to wonder if this woman hasn't had some sort of lobotomy

That would explain quite a lot, Em.

I can't believe that there could be a worse US politician than Bush and yet here she is.

I can't believe that Americans are seriously considering electing her.

It's fucking scary. This woman isn't a rottweiler with lipstick... she's PMT personified.

I'd read this elsewhere, Charliemingles. It's a bit worrying to say the least!

thats something coming from a grown man who wanders around in a frogmans outfit.

Doesn't it cause problems with your day job as a greif counsellor?

Nope, the Prozac works a treat.

Surely surely suuuuurely, America won't vote for this woman. Please God, please!

I went as far as to read this on an American newspaper site (directed there by my good pal the tattoeed Atheist who gives me hope that there are sane Americans out there) and comment pleading with all readers to register to vote now and make sure that the rest of the world (who have no say an an event that will effect us all) doesn't have to be subjected to a creationist warmongering Ubermom who knows nothing other than she can see Russia from her kitchen winda and she don't like the look of it one bit!

She doesn't believe in dinosaurs....really she thinks god made a wee man and lady from plasticine and set them down in the garden of Eden!!!!!

As far as I'm concerned she can believe whatever she likes, Misssy. It's the teaching it to kids in high school that bothers me.

...and the gun thing.

...and the stance on abortion.

...oh, and the war thing.

Etc etc.

The fact that a group of people got together and decided to place her on the ticket makes my mind reel.

Is there *anything* that makes her a sane choice for VP? Anything? Bueller?

PS. Is the Russian president still Putin? *feels disoriented*

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who says she can make a mean soufflé.

Putin is now demoted to Prime Minister but that old trick's foolin' nobody.

If I were amerkin I'd be kept awake at night by the thought that she could be one heart beat away from "the button".

Inchy said...

You're absolutely right, Bulldog, but she does have great hair. That's gotta count for something.

I'm just praying we don't have to move from plain old Palinwatch to VP Palinwatch ... anyone here betting that McCain could see out his four-year term?
