The End Of The World

Q. What does the Large Hadron Collider and Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin (pictured above with family, minus non-photogenic offspring) have in common?

A. Both are a bit scary and could spell the end for humanity.

I don't normally have anything to do with warmongering, gun-toting, anti-choice hairspray nazis, but the thought of Mrs Palin being the most powerful woman in the world scares the hell out of me.
"But why, Inchy?" I hear you cry:

1. Her answer to the gun problem in the States is not less guns, it's more guns!

2. If her daughter was brutally gang-raped, she would force her, by law if necessary, to carry any resulting pregnancy to full term.

3. Most scary of all, she's a Creationist, and therefore thinks that The Bible is a factual document and not a novel written 2000 years ago, and that God put dinosaur fossils in the ground just to test our faith.

She's 44, John McCain is 72, so there's a damn good chance she'll be the first female US President.

The Large Hadron Collider, on the other hand, well that's just a big giggle!

SWITCH IT ON!
SWITCH IT ON!

Hmm, I wonder if it makes much difference at all who heads up that nation, they all seem a bit riddled in hypocrisy to me.

The only thing worse than a lunatic is a lunatic with her finger on the button of the world's largest nuclear arsenal.

I hear that Mars could be terraformed in about a century. Interested in helping me set up a colony?

What gets me is every time I criticize Palin I get called sexist. The woman is a RAVING RELIGIOUS LUNATIC....okay...so I'm sexist, so shoot me

I agree, please leave all gun-totin' mammas out of the White House. Pleeeease.

I'm also rather hopeful that the world won't be sucked into a giant crack in the earth some time today.

All I'm thinking is "Please, black people of American, please register to vote".

The black and hispanic population are the most disenfranchised, because they don't register-but please, for the love of Pete Do It.

They won't get another chance like this. Bush won by default, so could this pair of androids.

I'd like to see the CERN boffins fire a hadron particle into Palin's brain - but the chances of them hitting it at even the subatomic level is thin and I doubt much energy would be released even if they did...

Bizarrely, and for the first time, I find myself agreeing with each and every one of you.

I seems to me like the American public will vote for anyone with nice hair.

There's a great scene in the movie adaptation of Stephen King's Deadzone when Johnny Smith see's the future of Presidential candidate Greg Stillson (Martin Sheen). "I have had a vision that I am going to be President of the United States someday. And nobody, and I mean NOBODY is going to stop me!"

Trouble with people like Palin/McCain and other 'moral majority' types is that they really believe in the Apocalypse!

"The missiles are flying. Hallelujah, Hallelujah!"

Well, it's easy to welcome the Apocalypse when you fervently believe that you'll be swept up to Heaven on the wings of angels, there to be greeted by the Almighty who'll say, in His deep and booming voice, "Well done chaps".

It's just a shame for the other 90% of the world ...

^^^^for those people they should advertise the fact that they are planning on re-creating the "big-bang", and their studies might create a free source of energy to replace the burning of fossil fuels, forever! anyone who doesn't believe in the original "big-bang", is not going to benefit from the replica. see how long G.W. and his creationist mates hold out.
